THE clamour for Grand Final tickets reached fever pitch at the Hilton Park box office this week with all Leigh's initial allocation being snapped up inside 48 hours of going on sale.
By yesterday morning the Centurions had sold their entire allocation of 3000 and were eagerly awaiting a delivery of another couple of hundred from the Rugby League
Leigh will also get an additional batch - but not until after the outcome is known of Sunday's final eliminator between Whitehaven and Featherstone. Any extra tickets will go on sale sometime early next week.
"The ticket office has been in meltdown since the tickets went on sale on Monday morning," said Leigh's Operations Manager Mike Callaghan. "The response from our fans has again been magnificent.
"We have already sold out 18 coaches for the final at Widnes and that figure is likely to rise."
Mike is also calling for all Leigh fans to wear red and white for the October 10 final.
"I want us to paint Widnes red and white," he says. "Look at Holland when they play soccer, the stadiums are a sea of orange. Let's make Widnes a sea of red and white."
