THE search is on for a young football fan to represent Wanderers in a penalty shootout challenge.
The National Football Museum, based at Preston, has just opened its latest new attraction, Goalstriker, the world's first fully developed interactive penalty shootout experience. State-of-the-art laser technology records the speed of the ball and the exact position it crosses the goal line.
Facing the penalty takers is a projected goalkeeper who dives randomly and has the ability to save shots.
To mark the launch of Goalstriker, the Museum is giving the opportunity to one junior supporter from each of the 16 North West league clubs to represent their team against their local rivals in the shootout.
To make sure they attract the true fans, the Museum has set the following tiebreaker:
In no more than 30 words finish off the following statement:
"I should be the representative of Bolton Wanderers in The National Football Museum Goalstriker challenge because ........................"
The best response, as decided by the Museum, will be selected to be their club's representative in the Goalstriker competition.
Send entries with the completed statement to: Goalstriker Competition, The National Football Museum, Sir Tom Finney Way, Deepdale, Preston, Lancashire, PR1 6RU or competition@national
