YOUNG men are being sought by a charity who make it their mission to find stem cell and bone marrow transplants for people with life-threatening diseases.
More than 6,000 people in the UK get leukaemia and other potentially fatal bone marrow disorders. Their only hope is a stem cell or bone marrow transplant from a healthy donor.
For many patients without a family match, volunteer donors offer the only hope. The Anthony Nolan Trust, a registered charity, is urging more people to register as volunteers donors.
The charity, together with the Bury Lions Club, is organising the Life-Saving Register at a Special Donor Clinic on Saturday, October 9, at Bury Parish Church, The Wylde, Bury, between 10am-1pm.
Volunteers must be aged between 18-40 years, and in good general health.
