Wigan Athletic v Rotherham
GARY Teale is the latest player to be struck by Wigan's knee injury jinx as they aim to get back to form against Rotherham.
The winger is a major doubt for Saturday's Championship clash after hobbling off during Tuesday night's 0-0 draw at Watford.
Teale is the third Wigan player to pick up a knee injury in the last fortnight, with centre-back Matt Jackson sidelines and fromer Wanderers midfielder Per Frandsen out for the season with a torn cruciate ligament.
But manager Paul Jewell is refusing to use that as an excuse for his team's poor performance at Vicarage Road.
He is looking for a return to winning form after two successive draws.
Jewell said: "We're certainly down to the bare bones due to injury, but I'm not into making excuses.
"We had enough quality out on the field to do far better than we did at Watford.
"We'll certainly have to be far better than that if we have aspirations of finishing in at least the top six. It's vital that we put in a good showing and get a positive result against Rotherham before we go into the international break."
Teale's injury may give David Graham a chance to make his first Championship start since joining the Latics from Torquay during the summer.
Opponents Rotherham, without a league win this season, are three points adrift at the bottom of the Championship following Tuesday night's 2-3 defeat at home to Crewe.
