TONGE with Haulgh constituents should note that they are represented by a councillor who believes people with genuine local community concerns sign petitions without even thinking about what they are signing.
The residents of Wigan Road and the Sutton Estate are seething with anger at his insulting comments to Bolton Planning and Highways Committee, who were deliberating on a planning application opposed by Deane residents, through a petition.
Where is Cllr Nick Peel's evidence and justification for this "hatchet" job on their democratic petition?
The Deane area is outside of his knowledge, and he certainly hadn't checked on the concerns of local residents. Despite this, he saw fit to trash their petition, thereby paving the way for the application to build apartments to receive approval.
