A SUPERMARKET near the former surgery of serial killer Dr Harold Shipman has withdrawn white Hallowe'en coats covered with the words "Dr Death."
Asda has apologised and also promised to give £500 to the Tameside branch of Victim Support.
The white coat, selling at £8, was spattered with blood and lists the ward name as "mad."
An Asda spokesman said the company had withdrawn the items from the Hyde store and across Greater Manchester.
The spokesman said the store had not received any direct complaints but understood the sensitivity of the issue.
"We thought it would be appropriate to give the money to the local victim support organisation," he added.
