PIONEERING fingerprinting by police in Lancashire of those involved in street disorder has been hailed a success.
Each person who has been stopped by officers for committing minor public disorder offences has provided a single digit fingerprint to stop them giving false details.
The offenders have then been issued with on-the-spot fines.
Inspector John Clucas developed the fingerprinting kit. He said: "Lancashire Constabulary is the first force in England to introduce the system which is quick and easy to use."
