PLANNING bosses have refused an application to turn a Farnworth home into a day nursery.
Bolton Council received five letters objecting to the plan for Highfield Road.
Objectors claimed that a nursery would increase traffic in the area as parents dropped off and collected children, and that the noise would disturb neighbours.
Harper Green councillor Carl Dennis also wrote to the council's planning committee to complain the application by Mr Kavanagh was not in keeping with the surrounding properties.
Cllr Bill Collison said: "There are too many things going against this application for us to approve it."
In a separate application, the committee agreed to allow Hocus Pocus Day Nursery, in Radcliffe Road, Tonge Fold, to increase the number of children its caters for from 60 to 94.
It will also be allowed to extend its opening hours from 4pm to 5.30pm.
The nursery's owners have agreed that no more than 24 children will use the outdoor play area at any one time.
