A NINE-YEAR-OLD Asian girl was left traumatised after being assaulted and verbally abused in an unprovoked racial attack.
The youngster was playing near her home in Back St Helens Road, Morris Green, when she was approached by a girl aged about 15.
Police say the teenager repeatedly pushed and shoved the younger girl, while bombarding her with racial insults.
After carrying out a number of inquiries, police have now issued a fresh appeal for information to the attack which happened at around 7.15pm on Friday July 30.
PC Mick Chandler from Bolton Police said: "She was not physically injured but was very upset.
"It was quite a serious incident because of the racial comments that were made.
"This was a completely unprovoked attack on a young girl who was just playing out at the time. "
The offender is described as white, with brown hair in a bob, 4ft 6ins and she had a stud in the left hand side of her top lip.
She was wearing a baseball cap and jeans.
