SAM Allardyce wasn't tempted by Newcastle -- but I am very concerned that our manager will be lured away if the Bolton board don't act quickly.
It would seem quite clear from his recent statements that he wants to stay.
He has built Wanderers into a top Premiership club from scratch. Without Big Sam, our club could go back to the "dark days".
He is by far our most important asset. So, Mr Gartside and members of the board, give Big Sam the contract he has earned and one to match his outstanding record.
Under Big Sam, we have been play-off winners, League Cup finalists and FA Cup semi-finalists.
We have had four years in the best league in the world, on a transfer budget of sround £5 million, despite having to sell players such as Eidur Gudjohnsen and Claus Jensen, and despite receiving millions of pounds from Sky. We finished eighth last season, and may do even better this time. Need I say more?
Big Sam is Bolton Wanderers; we must act now. The man -- no, the God -- is going nowhere.
