MORE than 4,000 patients were waiting for their results of radiology tests at the Royal Bolton Hospital in July.
As at the end of July, 4,431 films from CT and MR scans had still not been reported on. Of those films waiting, 60.6 per cent were for patients who had attended Accident and Emergency.
The figure is a decrease of 14.6 per cent on June, 2004. A shortage of doctors qualified to read them is to blame for the delays.
