REPRESENTATIVES of different religions in Bolton will come together to design and create a banner in a bid to bridge the gap between faiths.
Around 50 people from several churches and mosques across the town will each design a small section of the banner, explaining what faith means to them.
They will then be stitched together to form a large colourful banner, measuring six feet by four feet.
The centre-piece of the pennant will be a large logo of Bolton Interfaith Council, which has organised the event at Bolton Institute's Eagle Mall.
The Council hopes that the completed banner will then tour churches, mosques and community groups in Bolton, being exhibited at each venue.
People taking part in the event will be assisted by a community artist.
Interfaith Development worker Carol Hayden said: "The idea is to create something that will celebrate the diversity of faiths in Bolton.
"The event will also provide an opportunity for people to talk and share ideas between different faiths, as well as making new contacts."
The event will run from 9.30am until 4pm on Saturday. Anyone wishing to take part should call Carol Hayden on 396656.
