CAN anyone tell me exactly how greedy the council can get?

It is Sunday evening -- it is cold, wet and windy -- typical autumn weather.

Usually, when you go to the local video shop, you will find a number of cars are parked on the double yellow lines on the street which runs adjacent to the school and church.

It is a fact that there isn't enough parking space, certainly none where a lone woman would wish to park in the evening.

Imagine my surprise (and great relief that I managed to find a legal parking place), when coming out of the video shop at 7.20pm last night, that there were two parking attendants operating on this very street.

Is the council so strapped for cash that they are clearly willing to pay extra to have someone working so late on a Sunday evening, just to catch people who have not been lucky enough to find a legal parking space?

Have they now found that the town centre is losing so much business to places like the Trafford Centre, that they are having to pick on outer townships which already have small businesses struggling for survival?

Wake up councillors!
