NORTH-west manufacturers have seen a consolidation of the upturn in business reported through the first six months of 2004, according to the latest survey of the sector by EEF, the manufacturers' organisation in the region.
Figures for order books from both UK and export business have remained "positive". There is also some evidence that price pressures have eased although margins remain tight.
