BOLTON fire stations joined in the biggest car wash of the year as fire stations throughout the country picked up the bucket and sponge to clean cars.
Drivers queued at Bolton Central, Horwich and Farnworth to get their cars hosed by the professionals.
More than £1,000 was raised in Bolton for the Firefighters Benevolent Fund. Farnworth firefighters raised the most money, washing around a hundred cars to raise £474.
