A GUN was held to the head of a postmaster in Leigh during a terrifying raid.
Two masked men armed with firearms burst into the Plank Lane Post Office in Firs Lane on Monday shortly before 11am and forced their way behind the counter.
While one of the robbers grabbed the postmaster and threatened him, a shop assistant was told to open the office door.
The two members of staff were made to stay in the office while they searched the premises and escaped with a quantity of cash.
They fled in a gold Volvo C70 which was waiting on Thompson Street which had been stolen from the Hindley area and was later found abandoned in Fell Street.
