MANCHESTER'S own "London Eye" will transform the city's skyline.
The spectacular 60-metre wheel is being transported from Paris where it has been glittering in the Champs-Elysee.
Lorries are bringing the £3.5 million attraction across The Channel to Exchange Square in Manchester where it will remain until February.
The 42-carriage wheel will be put up next week and provide spectacular views of the city and surrounding area.
Thought to be the world's largest transportable observation wheel, it is expected to pull in huge crowds during the run-up to Christmas.
It weighs 365 tonnes and will be steadied by ballast tanks containing 20,000 gallons of water on either side.
The wheel also features a VIP gondola with leather seats, a carpet, a fridge and a telephone.
Each ride lasts for 10 minutes with tickets costing £5 for adults, £4 for senior citizens and £2 for children.
