Cardiff Devils have announced their latest signing. Rob Davison comes straight from the NHL outfit San Jose Sharks where he is still contracted should the NHL lock out situation rectify itself this season.
According to a statement from the club, "everything will go according to plan this week and he'll be getting on a plane Friday morning and landing Friday night.
"He'll then link up with his team mates for an on ice practice Saturday morning before heading off the Sheffield for his first game."
Head Coach Dave Whistle was understandably excited: "Davison is going to be an excellent all round defence man for us and coming here will give him the opportunity to get some offensive play as well."
"In the NHL he plays a specific role on the D but he's going to get a lot of ice time and plenty of opportunity on the power play and penalty kill."
"He's a young guy and has said himself that he's too young to be sitting at home while the NHL sort out the lock out, so he's coming over to see a bit of Britain and Wales in particular and keep as fit as he can."
Devils travel to take on the Sheffield Steelers Saturday 9th October and then play Edinburgh Capitals on Sunday 10th October at the WNIR. Face off on
Sunday is at 6pm - ticket information available on 0292 0645988.
