LOCOMOTIVES, traction engines, hot air and mill engines of all sizes will be on display at Quarry Bank Mill this weekend.
Model Engineers from the North West will be showing off their skills - and one exhibitor is even coming from the North of Scotland with his engines!
Quarry Bank's Engineering Manager, Barry Cook says: "This will be our first of what we hope will be an annual exhibition showing model engineering in a real setting. Engineering underpins the entire mill operation here at Quarry Bank, and we are delighted to have model engineers showing their skills alongside our Boulton and Watt Beam Engine and Fairbairn Water Wheel. "
Normal admission charges will apply - free to National Trust members. (£5.20 adults, £3.50 children, family £15)
Quarry Bank Mill has two working steam engines of its own - a beam engine of c.1810 and a horizontal engine of c.1870 both of which work most days. In addition, the Fairbairn wheel is now the most powerful working waterwheel in the world. Quarry Bank, at Styal, near Wilmslow, Cheshire, is open every day except Mondays in winter term times from 10.30am -5pm, last entry at 3.30pm.
