GARY SPEED believes his Wales team will not be daunted by the prospect of facing England at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Sven-Goran Eriksson has unleashed an exciting three-man strike force for the World Cup qualifier, but the Bolton Wanderers midfielder says England hold no fears.
The Wales skipper maintained that his country's rejuvenation under Mark Hughes means they do not run scared of anybody in international football.
"We are confident," said Speed.
"We have proved we can beat the best in the world and England are certainly up there with the best, but we are well prepared and confident.
"Anything can happen on the day. We have a good chance.
"We are underdogs and eight times out of 10 we would expect to lose.
"But it is a one-off game and we are organised. We also have people on our team who can win games."
Wales will rely on powerhouse forward John Hartson to trouble England's defence even though he believes he has still not recaptured his best form after two operations and a couple of lengthy lay-offs that have blighted his recent career.
But the big Celtic striker claims he is determined to continue in the Wales set-up for as long as possible, even though his mentor Mark Hughes is about to call time on his international management career.
Hartson will be the powerhouse forward that Wales hope can upset England's defence on Saturday in the World Cup clash at Old Trafford. But he claims he is still searching for his best form.
