Palace took maximum points at the eighth attempts when they beat Fulham 2-0 at Selhurst park on Monday, taking full advantage of th Cottagers being down to 10 men for all but six minutes.

The win came as a relief to the Eagles, who had struggled to come to terms with the top flight before holding Aston Villa to a draw in their previous game.

Now Dowie is hoping they can keep the points rolling at the Reebok next Saturday.

"This gives us a bit of a lift now, we got back to what we were about against Villa," the Palace boss said, reflecting on the Fulham result. "We've set our standards in the last two games in what we want to achieve and what the lads are about."
