JUSSI Jaaskelainen is ready to pledge his long-term future to Bolton Wanderers with a promise that he still has more to offer.

The Reebok keeper -- the longest serving member of Sam Allardyce's squad -- has been repeatedly linked with Middlesbrough and Manchester United.

But the Finland international insists his next career move will be to negotiate an extension and improvement to his current contract, which expires in June 2007.

"It's just speculation, I don't care about it," Jaaskelainen said, dissmissive of the recent rumours that Sir Alex Ferguson wants to take him to Old Trafford with, as some speculators suggest, United's current first-team keeper Roy Carroll coming to Bolton in exchange.

"I'm happy here. I have another two years here and I'm hoping to sign another contract, definitely."

Jaaskelainen, who joined Wanderers from VPS Vassa in a £300,000 deal in November 1997, has worked hard to build a reputation as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premiership. He has established himself as the undisputed number one at the Reebok, making well over 200 senior appearances -- a seven-year association that last season earned him the Lion of Vienna Award for outstanding service to the club.

But he sets himself high standards and, still six months short of his 30th birthday, he believes he has still not reached his peak.

"I hope my best is still to come," he said. "I'm 29 now and, when I get to 32 or 33, I should be there.

"I still have a lot to learn -- just small things, really. You always need to be making the right decisions and that comes with the more games you play and the more experience you get. I keep working hard and I'm going to get there."

Jaaskelainen is expected to be one of a number of first team players rested when Wanderers take on Spurs at the Reebok on Wednesday in the third round of the Carling Cup.

Wanderers have reduced admission prices (£20 and £15 for adults, £18 and £13 for pensioners and students) and are offering free admission for up to two children accompanied by an adult, pensioner or student, provided tickets are purchased before close of business at 7pm Tuesday evening. Tickets purchased for children on Wednesday will cost £5.
