A picture last month, showing a 1963 "at home" for civilians organised by the 5th Battalion, the Loyal Regiment in Westmorland, had poignancy for Jane Harrop of Belmont Road, Bolton.
Her father, L/Cpl Frank Harrop of Henry Street, Bolton, was on the photograph and was mentioned in the accompanying story.
Jane says Frank, who died four years ago, served in Korea during his army service.
She says she would like to hear from anybody who can help her know her father better because he never talked about his childhood or army career.
"He had one or two scars but he would not tell us anything about it," Jane says.
