THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder following an incident in Bolton town centre early on Friday.
A group of men were seen on CCTV shortly before 1.50am causing a disturbance outside the Ikon nightclub in Bridge Street.
One of the men was then seen to threaten a group of men in Manor Street with a machete.
It is believed the weapon was abandoned nearby.
Two men, aged 19 and 21, from Bolton, and a 21-year-old man from Little Hulton will be questioned by police later on Friday.
Insp Martin Freschini of Bolton Police, said after the arrests: "Greater Manchester Police is committed to tackling alcohol-related violence in Bolton.
"As part of Operation Siren, we are working in partnership with other agencies to reduce violent disorder in the town centre to make Bolton a safer place for people to go out and enjoy themselves."
