SIXTH form students swapped the classroom for the boardroom to try to launch their own businesses.
Four teams of six from Bolton School had to prove to high-profile city figures that they had what it takes to make it as an entrepreneur.
The school was invited to take part in the first corporate enterprise scheme organised by The Bank of Scotland.
More than 40 teams have been working hard to set up a successful business on paper - from research to presenting their ideas to "potential investors".
Four teams, two from the Girls Division and two from the Boys Division, were chosen to battle it out in front of judging panel of representatives from Price Waterhouse, Business Dynamics and The Bank of Scotland.
Chris Salt, associate director for The Bank of Scotland in Bolton, said: "The overall winner was the boys team, which had an idea for a recruitment agency called Skills Gap Ltd.
"What made this company different from other recruitment agencies was that they would just target areas where there was a shortage of skills.
"The company saw a niche area which no other agency targeted."
