A MAN was hit with a baseball bat after two men smashed his car window and threatened him with a knife.
The 38-year-old man was travelling along Bury New Road, Prestwich, in a silver Toyota Carina when he was rammed from behind by a blue Audi.
After stopping the car he was approached by two men. One man smashed the front offside window with a baseball bat before hitting the man around the body through the window.
The second man then produced a knife but the pair fled empty handed after a brief struggle.
The victim suffered minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
The offenders are described as white males between 22 and 25 years old, 5ft 6ins tall and of medium build.
One was wearing a grey top and the other white top and both men had short dark hair.
