A 23-year-old could become Bolton's youngest ever MP if he can defeat David Crausby in his Bolton North-east constituency.
Trainee teacher Adam Killeya is among the candidates unveiled by the Liberal Democrats to contest the General Election as they bid to build on their success at last year's Bolton Council council ballot.
But Bury-born Adam, who is standing for office for the first time, faces a tall order if he is to overthrow Labour after his party fell 17,000 votes behind Mr Crausby at the last General Election in 2001.
He and Mr Crausby will be joined in the contest widely tipped to take place on May 5 - by the Conservative candidate Paul Brierley.
Both the UK Independence Party and Robert Killroy-Silk's new Veritas group have both said they intend to stand candidates in all three Bolton seats.
If Mr Killeya was to take the seat he would become the youngest MP in the borough's history.
Ann Taylor was 27-years-old when she took the Bolton West seat in 1974 and Ruth Kelly was aged 29 when she won it 23 years later.
