KYLIE Minogue and Sir Richard Branson's favourite Cuban song and dance extravaganza is to visit Manchester.Lady Salsa was first performed at the 2000 Edinburgh Festival and became an instant hit and since then, it has toured the world.
Now it is set to visit the Opera House for six days from Monday until Saturday, March 19.
This is the story of Cuba's history, politics and music. They are melded together in Lady Salsa, which takes the audience on a thrilling ride through that story and the people and irresistible sounds that bring the island to life.
The history of Cuba's music and dance is traced from its roots in earthy slave rhythms to elegant 20th century jazz and ends with a spectacular finale featuring stunning salsa routines.
From the producer of Fame and Saturday Night Fever and directed by Toby Gough, this kaleidoscope of colour and glamour charts Cuba's vibrant and volatile history from dictatorship through to Ridel Castro with red hot rumba, mambo, cha-cha, Macarena and sensational salsa.
