FIVE boys from Bolton School have been called up for a Great Britain water polo training camp in Barcelona.
Fifteen-year-old goalkeeper Edward Scott is the youngest of the five to be selected with 16-year-olds Peter Hutchinson and Robert Rae and 18-year-olds Matthew Pimblett and Sammy Badawy also chosen.
The quintet will travel to Spain ahead of the European Junior Championships in Poland next month.
A squad of 16 will be picked to represent Britain, and all five Bolton players have a good chance of getting the nod.
It is a major achievement for Bolton School, whose dominance of the national schools water polo scene looks set to continue.
The school won national titles at three age groups last year, and is on course to retain the lot.
Director of sport Trevor Pledger and water polo coach Simon Jones are thrilled with the achievement.
Simon said: "To have three boys who are so young going to Barcelona is very impressive.
"All credit to the five of them for putting in so much hard work because they really do train very hard."
As well as their national commitments, the five players are also preparing to try to retain the national schools titles at under-16s and under-19s at the start of May.
They have both reached the final, while the under-14s team are in the semi-final of the national competition they won 12 months ago.
