A SINGING roadshow was saved from disaster when a Bolton store stepped in to help.
Fundraisers from the Christie Hospital panicked when their volunteer singers were struggling to set up a base for a day in Bolton town centre.
Marks and Spencer came to the rescue and the singers performed for delighted shoppers who gave a total of £1,295.25 to the cancer charity.
Organiser Gregory Paul said: "A shop in Victoria Square did indicate they would be able to help us by letting us set up our roadshow outside their shop and giving us a plug socket.
"But their head office said no and Marks and Spencer stepped in at the last minute to save us from what would have been a total disaster. We can't thank them enough."
The roadshow is desperate for more volunteer collectors for its events. If you can help telephone Gregory on 01282 459533.
