A DIRECTORY of health and sporting activities has been produced to inspire people to get active and try something new.
Bolton Council's Health Development Team has compiled the booklet to prove that exercise classes and activity sessions are accessible, affordable and enjoyable.
And to encourage people to "try before they buy", they will be offered the chance to try each session free of charge. Activities on offer include chair-based exercise; tai chi; swimming lessons; street dance for adults and young people; legs, bums and tums stability ball class; aerobics and cycling.
Physical activity can have a range of beneficial effects including reducing harmful cholesterol, lowering blood pressure; increasing energy, reducing excess weight and improving confidence and well-being.
Sessions are held at a number of venues across the town. For more information about what is on offer, call 01204 334476 or e-mail: health.development@bolton.gov.uk
