A NEW mobile police station aimed at combating anti-social behaviour will open its doors to the public next week.
Copshop 2 in Farnworth is being hailed as the latest weapon in fighting crime and police hope it will repeat the success of their first mobile police station in the town.
Visitors will be able to catch a glimpse behind the scene of the crime-fighting unit, based at New Bury, on Monday.
Police officers will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate equipment being used to combat crime.
Copshops are designed to provide a presence in areas which have been plagued by crime and reassure the public.
Copshop 2 was introduced last month after the first Copshop enjoyed huge success in Tonge Moor, The Haulgh and its current base, Halliwell.
It has helped to reduce street crime, car crime, burglary, drug problems and prostitution.
The open day, being held at the New Bury Community Learning Centre on Buckley Lane, New Bury, will run from 2pm until 5pm and 6pm until 8pm next Monday.
