A MAN who was threatened with a machete during a stand-off outside a Bolton nightclub is being urged to come forward by police.

Officers have appealed to the public to help identify the man, who was wearing a grey and black shirt and standing with a woman with blonde hair, pink dress and white boots.

The images were captured on CCTV cameras in the Manor Street area around the time that the man was threatened by a gang of men, one of whom was wielding a machete.

It is believed the weapon was dumped nearby.

Police believe the attack was linked to an incident outside the Ikon nightclub which officers attended at 1.50am on Friday March 3.

Police would also like to trace two blonde women and a man, who was wearing black clothing, who witnessed the incident.

Two men, aged 19 and 21, from Bolton and a 21-year-old man from Little Hulton were arrested by officers that night on suspicion of causing violent disorder and have been bailed until March 27 pending further enquiries.

Anyone who recognises those in the pictures or the individuals themselves are asked to contact police on 0161 856 5620 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
