THE funeral of Bolton Wanderers' biggest fan has taken place on Thursday.
Dave Higson, whose catchphrase "Ding Dong Do" became legendary among football fans across the country, died last week aged 58, after collapsing in the driveway of his Morris Green home.
Attempts to resuscitate him by his wife Barbara and paramedics failed.
The cortege carrying Mr Higson was calling at the Reebok Stadium first, with staff and the Bolton Wanderers chaplain Rev Phil Mason gathering outside to pay their respects with a minute's silence.
Mourners, who were encouraged to wear football shirts, were then invited to attend a service at Overdale Cemetery.
