OVER the years I have made some great European friends. When I discussed the EU with them they sighed and said "it is not working".
My Greek colleague complains their prices have more than doubled yet salaries haven't risen to reflect these changes.
My German colleague complains their teenagers have to work for free to have any hope of finding a job.
My Swiss colleague smiled and said they (the UK) do not have any of these problems as they are not in the EU!
Recent letters to the Bolton Evening News supporting the EU constitution and EU integration fail to highlight the anomalies and contradictions that exist with EU legislation.
These contradictions cost money - our money that is wasted. Although challenged no one has actually done a cost-benefit analysis of the EU. Do your own research and ask yourself are you getting value for money?
Corruption in the EU has led to the EU auditors refusing to sign off the EU accounts for a 10th year in a row. Has anyone been prosecuted? Has anyone been brought to task ? No.
Indeed Mr Kinnock who was responsible for tackling this corruption has retired with a princely pension and golden handshake.
And what happened to the EU's own whistleblowers who brought some of this corruption to light? They got sacked.
We are constantly told we are Europhiles and xenophobic, nothing could be further from the truth.
We are not anti EU or against our EU partners. We are against the wasting of our taxes, our money, to an unaccountable body.
In the UK the EU contradictions get worse, EU legislation bans off the shelf vitamins which people readily choose to purchase, yet the EU water directive allows the introduction of a toxic fluoride compound into our drinking water supply against the wishes of the majority of the people who will go on to consume it.
The EU interferes with nearly every aspect of our lives and it costs us a vast amount of money. We want to put our money to better use in the interests of the British people.
