A 78-year-old man suffered facial injuries when he was assaulted and robbed in Wythenshawe.
The pensioner was walking along The Birtles when he was approached from behind and pushed to the ground by a man.
The offender stole a chequebook and ran off in the direction of the bus station. The 78-year-old suffered a cut above his eye and was treated at Wythenshawe Hospital.
Police are investigating.
