REVELLERS in the North-west are more likely to go abroad for stag and hen parties than from most other places in the UK, according to new research.
North-west partygoers rank second in a national survey which revealed that 10 per cent of people from the region have travelled abroad on stag and hen parties in the last five years.
Londoners topped the survey, with 17 per cent of people from the capital travelling for pre-wedding parties.
While celebrating, one in five will lose valuables, 10 per cent will have items stolen, 17 per cent will require medical attention after sports or drunken accidents and four per cent are likely to be arrested, the survey found.
Men appear to be the most accident-prone, with four times as many stags losing personal items as hens, and twice as many being victims of theft.
Men also visit the hospital more than women and, while only one per cent of hens suffer injuries on a weekend away, 14 per cent of stags find themselves nursing broken bones and bruises.
