GROUPS which use sport to strengthen communities can now apply for funding through Sport Relief.
The Community Foundation for Greater Manchester has been allocated money through the Sport Relief scheme and is co-ordinating the distribution of funds.
The money could be used for a bowling group for older people, an aerobic class for Asian women, swimming lessons for a women's refuge, tennis coaching, five a side tournaments or dance lessons.
Groups can apply for grants from between £250 and £5,000.
