A CRIMEBUSTING booklet is to be delivered to thousands of homes in Bolton.
The 16-page publication, which has been used all over the country, will give residents information about community safety in their area.
It will be packed full of useful advice and tips and should be used as a reference document next to the telephone.
PC John Heyes, a Bolton Crime Reduction Advisor, said: "The booklet contains advice and information on how the police, local agencies and the community can work together to combat crime by taking simple steps at home and at work.
"Crime reduction can only be achieved by us all playing a part, however small, in community safety and crime prevention. There are many examples of community partnership in Bolton and these have become a vital part of our long term plan to create an even safer environment for the local community."
Ed Plater of Crime Services Agency, which is responsible for designing and publishing the booklets, said: "The Community Safety/Crime Preventionpublications are playing an increasingly larger part, around the country, in getting the message out to people about what is being done to help fight crime and what they can do for themselves to help the police and the local authorities.
"We are confident the Bolton residents will welcome this positive initiative".
