SCARBOROUGH 3, LEIGH RMI 0: RMI crashed to their third successive 3-0 defeat but produced another battling display before they succumbed to a side with a play-off spot in their sights.
Keeper Jon Worsnop kept RMI in the game with a string of saves, most notably from Tyrone Thompson, Neil Bishop and Chris Senior.
At the other end, Andy Roscoe and new signing Colin Marrison tested Scarborough keeper Leigh Walker and RMI almost took the lead when Leam Coyne headed a great chance from a free-kick just wide of the upright.
The Railwaymen's resistance was finally broken two minutes from the break when Thompson's shot was blocked by the keeper, but Senior ran in to head home the rebound to score his 12th of the season.
The Seadogs went further ahead in the 69th minute when Tony Hackworth's corner was stobbed hame by Colin Cryan.
Scarborough put the issue beyond doubt 10 minutes later when a free-kick by Kevin Nicholson on the right was driven home at the far post by Mark Hotte.
Leigh's misery was aggravated when, with six minutes to go, they were reduced to 10 men when Andy Roscoe was sent off for a bad foul.
Sheffield's Marrison is one of a trio of young players Bleasdale has brought in to bolster his squad.
Bradford City striker Kevin Sanasy, 20 and Sheffield's Jake Speight have joined on work experience.
