Scarborough 3, Leigh RMI 0: A bad day at the office got even worse for Leigh RMI when Andrew Roscoe was dismissed for a foul on Ashley Lyth with seven minutes to go.
Chris Senior fired Scarborough ahead with a low shot from close range two minutes before the interval.
Colin Cryan and Mark Hotte both converted a pair of Kevin Nicholson crosses in the second half to stretch the advantage.
Scarborough Boss Nick Henry was a relieved man after the win which ended a three-game winless run.
He said: "After last week (a 4-0 defeat at Gravesend), we were very nervous in the first half, but we were lucky enough to get the goal.
"In the second half, we were a lot better and we dominated the game, but we weren't putting the chances away.
"At 1-0, a free-kick or a mistake could be costly, but Kevin Nicholson's set-plays were great for us."
