FOUR Horwich RMI Harrier ladies competed for their counties in the Reebok UK Inter Counties Cross Country Championships at Wollaton Park, Nottingham, last Saturday.
All aquited themselves really well in the high quality national championships.
Rachel Thompson, running for Greater Manchester, was Horwich's highest placed finisher in 21st, and second counter for Greater Manchester, in the U20s women's race.
In the same race, Vicky Snape was 62nd, representing Lancashire.
In the senior women's 8km race, Katie Ingam was Lancashire's forth counter in 45th, while Gaynor Higson was 199th and third counter for GM.
Last Saturday's testing Standish Hall Trail Race of approximately 10km, on a bitterly cold morning, saw Matthew Tickle run well to finish eighth. Ian Hesketh was next in 19th, closely followed by dad Tony in 20th (first O-55). The Horwich men won the team award.
