FIRSTLY, may I pass on my deepest sympathy to the family of Dave Higson. It was a real shock to hear the sad news of his passing.
As an avid fan of Bolton Wanderers during the dark days of the 1980s and early 90s I would watch Bolton home and away which meant going on the travel club.
There was many a long journey with the regular loyal fans which always included Dave.
Dave was a superb gentleman, steward and a great asset to BWFC.
The memories of Dave selling his scratchcards with "Anyone want a rub off", "What a ding dong do" will live with everyone forever. Would the club look at possibly having a testimonial for his family?
I'm sure this would be met warmly by the public of Bolton.
Who knows, the current side v the McAteers, Stubbs, McGinlays of the Rioch era would be a great way to remember a great man.
Always a Wanderer.
