THIS sparkling production is about the best-natured musical you may ever see.
It is young and funny and earthy and fast. Director Kathryn Henrys shows stunning theatrical vision in her creation of a bright, brassy, and jubilantly sassy show that had the audience stamping for more.
The story of the hassle between garment workers and a pyjama factory president is given a superb update by a wonderful, energised company.
The leads Nick Larkin (Sid) and Jenny Bowling (Babe) to create a sizzling stage chemistry that you want to watch over and over.
Philip Brady, as the mischievous, womanising Prez, belts out his numbers with relish. These include scorching renditions of Her Is, with Emily Warren as a steamy, slinky Gladys and Sharon Shaw as a wiser but devilish Mae.
Neville Moss gives efficiency expert Hines a spot-on amiable comic pathos, while Peter Smith is a cracking, bombastic boss Hasler.
There was snappy, pinpoint choreography from Barbara Grant, all played out on a clever, stylish set.
This is a show that takes a barrelful of talents and a handful of stimulating ideas, and sends them tumbling in happy profusion through the audience.
The Pajama Game has a fresh and winning grin on its face from the outset. And so will you.
