MOVING the headquarters of a major company is a huge undertaking - even if the new site is only over the road.
And if the majority of your employees are scattered around the country, not to mention your customers, the continuity of communications is vital.
This was the task facing Bury-based Pennine Telecom when it was contracted to install an Avaya Index telephone system in the new Cannon Hygiene Headquarters on the White Lund Industrial Estate in Morecambe.
Cannon Hygiene is the world's leading provider of environmental services and products and employs more than 2,000 people country-wide.
It is part of the OCS Group, the largest family-owned property support services provider in the UK, employing a total of 44,000 people. Pennine look after all the communications for the main company and have supplied the Avaya Index and IP Office systems to a number of sites.
"Our new Cannon Hygiene HQ is on a greenfield site and we organised a phased migration from the old premises, which were just over the road," said Matthew Howell, the company's Telecoms Manager.
