MOUNTING piles of groceries stacked high in front of a group of slimmers would usually signal a change of heart.
But members of fitness group Curves have simply been stocking up on the food in the name of charity.
The centre, on Knowsley Street, Bolton, has joined the Street Teams project to help struggling families in the town.
They have linked up with Bolton's Pentecostal Church, Bury New Road, who are accepting the food packages.
Susan McNeill, the owner of Curves, said: "We are trying to build a mountain of food, and it's already been toppling over on to the floor.
"We've collected 100lbs in food so far, and hoping to get much more."
Anyone joining Curves may take a bag of groceries and have the normal joining fee waived.
People can drop off non-perishable food items at Curves from Monday to Friday during business hours.
