MAY I alert your Bradshaw and Bromley Cross readers, that an application has been submitted by the owners of the remaining parcel of Birtenshaw farmland, currently known as Holland Nurseries, Darwen Road, which would entail more building and the creation of 270 car parking spaces, with the consequent increase in noise and air pollution and effect on wildlife.
Allowing this would drive a "coach and horses" through the 1934 restrictive covenant, the validity of which was so gallantly fought for with blood, toil, sweat and tears.
If a breach via the current planning application were to be allowed, the covering of this remaining "lung" with housing at some future date is a distinct possibility.
I ask that you write (or e-mail) stating your objections to the Director of Planning and Environment, Town Hall, Bolton, BL1 1RV, quoting PA 70318/05, as soon as possible please.
