PEOPLE in the Bolton area are helping to keep the North West Air Ambulance flying through difficult times.
Many charities have experienced a fall in donations as the public's money has been poured into the tsunami appeal.
But Lynda Brislin, chief executive of the rescue service, said: "We are very fortunate that the people of Greater Manchester appreciate the vital service we offer so that donations have not ceased."
The Blackpool-based service maintains life-saving cover seven days a week, 365 days a year. It costs just under £1 million to maintain, relying totally on donations.
