COMMUNITY groups in Bolton are being encouraged to put themselves forward for awards recognising the work of organisations who help make a difference for vulnerable people.
The Social Justice Awards aim to acknowledge the people and groups who tackle Britain's social problems.
The prospective Conservative canadiates for the borough's three Parliamentary seats - Philip Allott in Bolton West, Bolton North-east's Cllr Paul Brierley and Deborah Dunleavy - have all identified projects in their constituencies they believe are deserving of awards.
Miss Dunleavy, who is to stand in Bolton South-east, said: "I hope that all social projects will consider applying so that policy makers and potential donors will have the chance to learn from their work." To get an application pack visit www.centreforsocial justice.org.uk or call 07734 157038.
