A PAIR of violent thugs have been banned from Chorley pubs -- and also forbidden to drink on the street anywhere in the country.
James White, 20, and Thomas Greenwood, 21, were both given a five year Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) by a crown court judge, which prohibits them from consuming alcohol in a public street anywhere in England and Wales and entering licensed premises in Chorley.
Greenwood is also banned from entering Chorley town centre between the hours of 6pm and 7am.
The orders were given after White, of Market Street, and Greenwood, of Southdowns Road, both in Chorley, admitted a charge of affray committed on Eaves Green Road in the town.
Their victim, Stephen Smith, received a broken jaw after the drunken attack in which he was punched and kicked.
White and Greenwood were each given 50 hours community service and a 12-month rehabilitation order in addition to the ASBO at Preston Crown Court.
The judge in the case told them that the public were very concerned about drunken street violence before imposing the ASBOs.
PC Richard Booth, of Chorley Multi-Agency Problem Solving team, said: "These two offenders have committed a catalogue of alcohol fuelled crimes and we are delighted the order has been made.
"These two latest orders are sending out the message that Chorley is an even safer place to visit at night."
